Climate Training and Engagement

Teaching Climate: Understanding Climate Change Science, Impacts and Action Training on March March 12, 19, 26.  In this free after-school series, gain the knowledge , skills and tools necessary to build educational lesson plans for this spring and next year.

Education

Next meeting March 11 at the Hoover Forest Preserve. Visit the Meadowhawk Lodge in Hoover Forest Preserve and learn about the Kendall County Forest Preserve “Project Hoover” school program. This program engages middle school and high school students within an authentic habitat management project at Hoover Forest Preserve. The program includes field experiences introducing students to the rich natural, geologic, and cultural histories of Hoover Forest Preserve, while participating within a large-scale habitat restoration initiative. We will also hear from students that have participated in this program. After the presentation, head outside and do restoration work alongside Kendall County Forest Preserve District’s Natural Resource and Education Staff.

Wildlife

 The CW Wildlife Committee's Annual Seminar will be on March 19 at the Bartlett Nature Center. Join wildlife and natural resource professionals from the Chicago Wilderness region to network and learn about current wildlife management, monitoring, research and conservation projects from other members. Speakers will talk about local wildlife related research and conservation projects from other members. Speakers will talk about local local related research and conservation work. Contact Gary Glowacki if you would like to suggest any speakers, topics of interest or agenda items.
