Learn from Friends of Hackmatack National Wildlife Refuge, McHenry County Conservation District, Openlands, and U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service as we explore the interwoven mechanics of landscape-scale restoration. Stops include Nippersink Creek at Glacial Park, Tamarack West, and other sites throughout the Hackmatack National Wildlife Refuge. Meet at Lost Valley Visitor Center to board a bus. Lunch is included. 

Experience the natural heritage of the ecosystem, the ecological and cultural significance of several Lake Plain natural areas, and the collaborative efforts of the Lake Plain Coalition. Stops include Illinois Beach State Park (North Unit), Spring Bluff Forest Preserve, and Chiwaukee Prairie State Natural Area (Unit 1). Lunch is included. There is no bus for this tour, participants will drive themselves to the tour stops. Meet at North Point Marina.
