Join the Chicago Wilderness Alliance and partners for an exceptional day of peer-to-peer conservation learning to explore the Milwaukee Arborist Apprenticeship Program and Milwaukee Municipal Nursery with the Alliance’s urban tree canopy group.

Discover how the Arborist Apprenticeship Program finds and defines success and what lessons they have learned. Led by Randy Krouse, City of Milwaukee Urban Forestry Services Manager, the Field Day is also an amazing opportunity to deep dive into the topic of urban forestry.

No matter your area of expertise, all are welcome to join us for this informative day of professional development and networking!

Meeting Location/Transportation: Due to lower than expected registration, we are working on alternative transportation options; stay tuned for details. If you have already registered, we will contact you directly with instructions.

10:35 am: Welcome, Randy Krouse, City of Milwaukee Urban Forestry Services Manager
10:40 am: Background on Milwaukee Apprenticeship program
11:10 am: Observe chainsaw safety training, discuss training provided to each cohort
11:40 am: Tour Milwaukee Municipal nursery
12:10 pm: Travel by bus into Milwaukee
12:35 pm: Observe cohort of apprentices climb and prune trees and discuss the types of activities and oversight planned with new cohort
1:00 pm: Lunch, networking, and discussion
