Implementing the Curriculum 

The Mighty Acorns curriculum includes lessons for teachers to implement in the classroom before (Pre Field Study Activities) and after (Post Field Study Activities) each season’s Field Study Activity. Note that for each season, there are two sets of lesson strands to choose from. Teachers are encouraged to choose the strand that best supports what students are learning in their science class and other subjects at that time. To make the program meaningful, students must complete at least one Pre Field Study Activity prior to the trip and the corresponding Post Field Study Activity after the trip. If a teacher chooses to, students can also complete both sets of lessons by completing two Pre Field Study Activities and two Post Field Study Activities.
