    • Mighty Acorns: Connect urban youth with nature through a unique, hands-on experience, our partners supported the integration of Mighty Acorns with a highly respected, school-based, ecology curriculum.
  • Students and Emerging Professionals
  • Native Gardening (seeking leaders to create this committee)
  • Health and Wellness (seeking leaders to create this committee)
  • Art and Culture (seeking leaders to create this committee)

PROGRESS

  • Hosted webinar for 25 Chicago Wilderness organizations on accessibility in natural areas
  • Began compiling data on regional demographics and member audiences
    social scientists and outreach experts participated in the priority species selection process

The Education Committee provides networking and collaboration opportunities for Chicago Wilderness members, to offer valuable professional development to increase capacity of members, and to promote Chicago Wilderness member programs that engage youth of all ages in nature-based activities and encourage people to explore, appreciate and care about the natural world.
