		| FREE film screening and Growing Diversity event at The Field Museum on Saturday, March 19th !  The day will kick off at 10:00 am  with a screening of An American Ascent , an award-winning documentary that highlights Expedition Denali, the first all-African American team to climb America's highest peak. One of the expedition's climbers and activist, Scott Briscoe, will be on hand to answer questions and to guide a conversation with the audience about growing diversity in the outdoors. The film screening will be followed by a panel discussion with alumni from environmental leadership programs in Chicago. This is a great opportunity for youth and adults to learn about near-term environmental pathways and have direct access to next steps (paid opportunities) this summer. RSVP requested: contact Laura Milkert at lmilkert@fieldmuseum.org.  Doors open at 9:30 am . Program concludes at 1:30 pm . General admission to The Field Museum is required for additional entrance into the museum exhibits. Co-sponsored by National Outdoor Leadership School, The Field Museum, Friends of the Forest Preserves, Chicago Public Schools, and Patagonia Provisions (who is kindly providing snacks!) |
