CW Cafe

The Chicago Wilderness Cafe series serves up conversations on topics related to our Chicago Wilderness focus areas. Virtually connect with your colleagues to share ideas, pose questions and find out what's happening around the region.

Registration is open to the public and is free.

Next Cafe is September 25 at 12 noon: Cultivating an Advocacy Community to Move Forward

How is Chicago Wilderness coming together to advocate on behalf of people and nature during these uncertain times? What tools can we use to effectively reach out to audiences, both old and new, both internal and external? How can we continue to voice the importance of conservation policy while remaining cognizant of increasing demands on our legislators’ schedules? What’s new with the Government Relations Community and why did we replace “Committee” with Community?

Please join this discussion to share your ideas on how we can build a strong and friendly network of advocates for healthy human and natural communities.

Chicago Wilderness Partners: Create a Cafe session

Are you a Chicago Wilderness partner with a conservation success story you'd like to share or a topic to introduce and discuss with your peers? We'd love to have you create a Cafe session!

Cafes are conducted via Zoom and typically last 1 hour. Your session should relate to one or more of the CW focus areas of Advocacy and Awareness, Climate, Communities, Green Economy, Planning and Policy, or Science and Natural Resource Management.

We'll help you decide on a format for your session and can provide template slides or other assistance as needed. We'll also promote your session on social media and in our monthly newsletter.

Download our Cafe template for guidelines on how to create and hold your session.

Or contact Laura Reilly to talk through your Cafe session idea. Thanks for sharing your expertise with the Chicago Wilderness network!
