Chicago Wilderness Burn Pile Boss Certifications

Brush Pile Burn Boss Certification

Additional training opportunities will be advertised through CW and the VSN as available. Upon successful completion of the course led by a certified trainer, you will be issued a certificate. You are responsible for providing this certificate to your organization.

The requirements to become a Certified Brush Pile Burn Boss Instructor include:
 - Completion of a Brush Pile Burn Boss Instructor Certification session
 - Being a current staff member with a land management agency, non-profit, or other organization
 - Having previous experience conducting brush pile burns – minimum 4 burns
 - Having completed either the Chicago Wilderness Prescribed Burn Crew training or S130/190 Basic Wildland Firefighting courses
