Injured Wildlife: Who to Call for Help

Call your local rehabilitator or wildlife care center when handling an injured wildlife situation. Rehabilitators know the special needs of different species, like an animal's dietary requirements. They are also trained and certified to administer medications if needed and can carefully observe an animal's behavior and appearance. This allows rehabilitators to determine whether an animal is acting normally or having a problem. A rehabilitator can and will provide the best possible care available for our wildlife neighbors. Your concern for the injured animal is apparent, so the best thing you can do is to place their well-being above your personal attachment and hand them over to a trained, experienced and licensed rehabilitator.
