Chicago Wilderness is uniquely positioned for regional impact. We harness adaptive and innovative thinking, apply solid science, and connect diverse constituencies.

Chicago Wilderness is a regional alliance leading strategy to preserve, improve, and expand nature and quality of life in parts of Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Michigan.

With a 20-year legacy of collaboration, we are building on an exceptional body of regional work, including: Biodiversity Recovery Plan; Green Infrastructure Vision; regional plans of the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission, and Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission; Climate Action Plan for Nature, our education & outreach programs, and the great work of our committees.

Chicago Wilderness is a broad alliance of member organizations whose knowledge and expertise spans all facets of conservation. From invasive species removal and land regeneration to childhood education and volunteer action, our efforts significantly contribute to regional resiliency and economic vitality.
