On SaturdayMay 21 history and nature explorers unite to conduct a BioBlitz!

A BioBlitz event focuses on finding and identifying as many species and plants and animals as possible in a specific area over a short period of time. While hundreds of BioBlitz events occur across the nation, this is the first urban survey.

The event dovetails the National Park Foundation campaign of “Every Kid in a Park”, to celebrate the 100 anniversary of the National Park system.

The BioBlitz Pullman event marries old fashioned observation with new interactive technology in the form of the free inaturalist app. All ages are invited to assist and explore the grounds in search of native species.

In addition to the BioBlitz, activities include the ability to walk thru middle earth via the GEOSPHERE, a 20 foot inflatable globe.

Exploration data is uploaded to a permanent repository at and helps the National Park Service in its management of Pullman.
