An Ecumenical and Interfaith Convocation
Celebrating Pope Francis’ Encyclical Laudato Si — On Care for Our Common Home
Co-sponsored by Catholic Theological Union, The ACTS Common Council, The Archdiocese of Chicago Office for Peace & Justice, and the Archdiocese of Chicago Office for Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs
Join us for this opportunity to engage with the faculties of the Association of Chicago Theological Schools (ACTS), their presidents and deans, denominational leaders, and constituents — students, parish and congregational leaders, and lay people. The ACTS convocation will focus on the urgency of environmental issues, particularly climate change. In light of Pope Francis’ recent encyclical on the environment, we will come together to pray and worship in celebration of God’s gift of creation; share moral wisdom and theological knowledge on environmental justice; share practical skills, strategies, and processes necessary for environmental justice ministries; and network with one another for mutual encouragement and enrichment.
