Save the date for the Calumet Summit 2013: Connecting for Action on May 14-15 at the Marquette Park Pavilion in Gary, Indiana. The summit welcomes attendees who work to advance environmental quality in the bi-state Calumet region.
The purpose of the summit is to:
- Connect people engaged in environmental planning and conservation
- Learn about existing studies, plans, projects, and opportunities that inform or lead to collaborative action
- Identify key priorities, next steps, partners, and resources
- Celebrate the bi-state region’s world class environmental assets and their connection to economic and social well-being
The convening and planning of the Calumet Summit 2013 is being coordinated by the Calumet Stewardship Initiative (CSI) and a volunteer team of partners from, at the moment, the following organizations: Alliance for the Great Lakes, Cardno/JF New, Chicago Park District, The Field Museum, Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant, Indiana University Northwest, National Park Service, Northwest Indiana Regional Planning Commission, Purdue University Calumet, Save the Dunes, Shirley Heinze Land Trust, University of Chicago, Wildlife Habitat Council.
